Midland Power Cooperative believes in celebrating the important contributions of the youth in our area. The cooperative is sponsoring two youths on an all-expense-paid trip to Washington, D.C., for the 2010 Iowa Rural Electric Youth Tour, June 12 - 17.
Why should you go?
Participants will have the opportunity to explore some of our nation’s most significant historic sites, learn about electric cooperatives, meet with legislators, and see government in action. You also will meet 1,500 youth from across Iowa and the nation. It’s a fun-filled and educational week that you will never forget! For more information, visit www.youthtour.coop.
Who can participate?
Any sophomore or junior who attends a high school located in Midland Power Cooperative’s service area or is the dependent of a Midland Power member-consumer and lives in the service territory is eligible to apply.
How do I apply?
Complete and return the registration form below to our office by March 24,2010. All applicants will receive a packet of materials to study for a written test that will be conducted on March 31. After completing the test, candidates are interviewed by a small committee. All applicants must be present to take the test and to interview in Ames on March 31.
The two winners are selected based on the results of the tests and interviews.
