Midland Power Cooperative’s territory is divided into three districts. The member-consumers in each district elect three directors to represent their area; directors must reside within the district they are elected to represent. One board seat from each of the three districts is up for election annually. The election takes place at Midland Power's annual meeting in August.

Districts for Electing Co-op Directors Revisited - September 2005
Since the original consolidation of Greene County REC and Hardin County REC to form Midland Power Cooperative in 1992, Midland has experienced member growth throughout the cooperative’s three defined member voting districts.
Under both Iowa law and Midland’s articles of incorporation, the district boundaries need be reviewed and revised as necessary to provide as nearly as possible for an equal number of members in each district. The district boundaries are described in the bylaws of the cooperative and shown on a map of the cooperative’s service area, with such description and map maintained at all offices of the cooperative and kept available to members.
The defined three voting districts are made up of townships within a county. The map marked “ORIGINAL” illustrates the respective voting district boundaries prior to reapportionment. The new voting districts, which were approved by your board of directors and became effective Sept. 21, 2005, are marked on the “REVISED” map.
Listed below is the past and current member count per voting district.

District I 2,188 2,361
