The state of Iowa has a rebate program for the purchase of energy-efficient appliances that begins 8 a.m. March 1.
There is a very limited number of rebates available, so if you are thinking or replacing an old, inefficient appliance, be prepared to act quickly!
Customers cannot pre-register or reserve rebates before 8 a.m., March 1, 2010.
Consumers may make rebate reservations online or by phone.

Important details from the Iowa Office of Energy Independence:
- The toll free number (877-267-7495) will not be turned on until 8am, Monday, March 1st.
- Customers cannot pre-register or reserve rebates before March 1, 2010 at 8 am.
- No paper applications are available. For customers to apply for rebates, they will simply call or go on-line March 1.
- Customers will not need an appliance model number to apply.
- Retailers will be your best source of information to help you choose an appliance, please use them to help you make your choices.
- Customers have 30 days from the date they secure their rebate coupon code to purchase appliances and postmark their paperwork.
- The list of eligible appliances posted on Iowa Office of Energy Independence Web site will be updated as the Energy Star and Consortium for Energy Efficiency Web site is updated. Please use criteria posted at www.energy.iowa.gov to identify additional appliances eligible for rebates.
