Here are some resources to help identify how you might improve the energy efficiency of your home. Tools include energy checklists, energy audits and online heating cost calculators.
- Home Energy Checkup from the Alliance to Save Energy allows users to conduct a preliminary checkup of an existing home's energy features.
- Home Energy Saver from Touchstone Energy is an online energy audit from the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory offered through Touchstone Energy.
- The walk-though energy audit from the Department of Energy has tips for checking your home.
- Use Energy Wisely (pdf) downloadable publication with energy savings checklist and worksheets showing appliance energy use.
As with all on-line tools, these can give you general recommendations, along with places to look to save energy.
